Sciatica is a tingling, pain, or numbness in the leg with several root causes. Numbness is typically caused by inflammation of the sciatic nerve due to various causes such as disc herniation, lumbar spinal canal stenosis, intervertebral arthritis, piriformis syndrome, sacroiliac joint disorder, etc.
Inflammation of the sciatic nerve causes numbness and pain in the buttocks, thighs, shins, calves, and legs.
In severe cases, it can lead to urinary and stool problems.
